- Brisk Road Ride Wednesday 21st May
Unfortunately, I am now unable to lead the evening 'brisk' ride to Farley Hill.
Would someone else like to lead? Alternatively, please choose a leader/route amongst yourselves at the start; or you could join either of the other two rides going to the same destination (the Fox & Hounds).
Sorry... Alan 07770 315053.

- Moderate Road Ride Sun 18MAY
Due to me having to go away at short notice this weekend, I am unable to lead Sunday's ride to Burghfield. Please either choose a leader amongst yourselves at the start or join Sean Hayden's ride (only a little faster than my Mods!) who has kindly agreed to take a few extra riders. Both rides were scheduled to leave at 09:15. Sorry... James
- The Rural South 300km audax
The next audax event in the ReadingCTC calendar is the Rural South, on Saturday 7th June. The event is 306km (190 miles) and covers some fairly hilly ground, so is aimed at the more experienced audax rider - it is not suitable for a novice. There is no support apart from refreshments at the start and finish and the provision of a detailed routsheet. The event starts at 0600 from Beech Hill Village Hall, and goes south to Portsdown Hill near Portsmouth and then returns via Selborne. Entries should be made in advance if possible - an entry form can be accessed from the link. Note that the entry form should be accompanied by a cheque for £5.50 and two C5 envelopes prestamped and addressed (these are for your routesheet before, and completed brevet card after the event). Further details if needed can be obtained from the organiser, Peter Marshall, whose contact details are also in the link.
